I am a licensed mental health counselor with a MA in Applied Behavioral Science from the Bastyr University (LIOS) with an emphasis in Systems Counseling. I am a member of the Seattle Counselor's Association, Greater Seattle Business Association and CounselingSeattle.com. After completion of high school in Sedona, Arizona I began my undergraduate study in 1985 at Northern Arizona University majoring in Microbiology and Chemistry. I worked in the biotechnology field for seven years before I began searching for more meaning in my personal and professional life. The pursuit of overall health and wellness led me to the art of natural foods and the practice of yoga. I come from a diverse educational, cultural and racial background and I rely on my training as a psychotherapist, yoga teacher and natural foods expert to integrate a whole body approach in order to promote optimal health at all levels of being and embracing limitless possibilities as a lifelong practice. My approach is holistic, practical, straightforward, and lighthearted. My intention is to engage you actively and collaboratively to help you find the courage and confidence to explore and overcome your barriers. My counseling practice is influenced by Mindfulness based, Narrative, Humanistic and Person Centered Therapy. Additionally as an alternative modality, yoga therapy can be incorporated to further deepen one's self-awareness while addressing mental blocks. The emphasis is on gentle movement and stillness of the mind to embrace the opportunity for change, growth, and enhanced well-being.
